Share a conversation transcript
A transcript is a readable record of the messages in a conversation. You can use it for a phone call, email, text message or chat conversation.
Open the conversation menu and choose Share to create a private link, or Export transcript to save a readable Note for your team. Long messages can be expanded to show the complete text. This presentation uses the messages already stored in the conversation; it does not ask AI to write a new summary.
Choose how long the link works
A new link normally works for 24 hours from creation. Open More options for three choices:
- 24 hours — the default.
- Choose how long — enter the number of days. Use 3 for three days, 7 for one week, or another whole number.
- No expiry — the link keeps working until you revoke or replace it.
The reader and transcript invitation email show the exact deadline in UTC. After it passes, the reader asks the recipient to request a new link. Creating a new manual link replaces the previous one. Revoking a link stops future access; it cannot remove copies someone already saved.
What is included
The transcript includes delivered messages and identifies who said them. Hidden context, system messages and private transfer consultations are excluded. Show action names is off by default. Turn it on to show the name of an action Oppy used; its inputs and results are never included. Richer action details are not available in this reader.
Manual sharing includes the selected conversation’s stored messages, which may cover more than one call. It is not automatically limited to the last call. Recording links, note audio generation and embedded assistants are not available through the shared transcript.
Who can open the link
Keep the complete link private. Anyone who has it can read this transcript until it expires or is revoked. They do not need an Oppy account and are not added to yours. The link does not grant access to your other conversations, contacts, notes, settings or AI tools. These links currently use a secret key; they do not verify the recipient’s identity. Do not describe them as a one-use login or a specific-person invitation.
Shared transcripts are excluded from public search, blog listings and sitemaps. Knowing the note address without its secret key does not reveal the transcript or its title.
Escalation emails
When an escalation includes a transcript, the email has a View transcript button and its access deadline. An active escalation link keeps its original deadline when reused. Once it expires, a new escalation share creates a new link and deadline. Clearing the escalation revokes its transcript link. Manual links have a separate revoke action.
This feature does not enable automatic text messages after a warm transfer or change call-summary settings. Viewing or exporting existing messages does not run AI summary generation. Any delivery or AI-generation pricing is governed by the account’s applicable pricing; no fixed summary-credit price is implied here.
Using an AI assistant or API
An authorized assistant can export, share or revoke a transcript through manage_conversations. Export does not publish anything. Share publishes the selected conversation’s transcript to anyone holding the returned link. Revoke invalidates the manual share. Account API permissions and conversation access still apply; a recipient link is not an API credential.
For link duration, expires_in_hours defaults to 24 when omitted. Set it to 72, 168 or another whole number from 1 to 87600 for a custom duration. Explicit null means no expiry. include_tool_names defaults to false; compact defaults to true. REST export includes the text by default; MCP includes it only when include_markdown:true is requested.
